Solicited Hatred

There are a few people that I hate in my life
Personas and ideologies never seem to align
Pushing me into the corner to focus on the light
Berating me for not taking stage or looking alive
Trying to blame me for their own unsuitability
When I did only what was asked of me diligently
Gatekeeping works while questioning credibility
Incompetency masking is exposing insecurity
Leading to a lingering frustration, hearts heavy
It’s killing all the joy in a work that’s quite busy
Then piling on me for escaping out my lone city
Why are they birthing rivalry to dish animosity?
Creating a mountain instead of building a bridge
Separating our minds, and outdoing is our wish
Blaming me of sabotage is a claim they insist
And my anger blows up, evaporating the mist.
