Uncertainty

I look out my window, see life moving fast
Dark red clouds in the night sky lay blank
A man in the darkness watering plants
Dust from the windows began to advance
Pages on my arm, on my balcony, I sat
Neon signs far right have started to flash
A storm is brewing; Ink spilt on my lap
Drops in my tea that I hadn’t yet drank
Rain starts tip-toeing as I look around
Some poor men are covering ground
Finding solace under tarps unwound
Blocking seeping water, they had found
I sat comfortably in my home
Staring at the bristles of my comb
Wondering life’s hidden poem
Only a few years of idle roam.
