Nocturnal Alley

A desolate world lies ahead
Fur on my shoulders, I move on
Flickering neon signs are spread
Reflecting the darkness, I'd moved on
Stars in my sky, shimmering with fear
Till the day they're extinguished and forgotten
But so far away, they may already be dead
No memorial in sight, no obituary was read
As if sparks of their flame, already long gone
The rain on my shoulders, dripping with dread
With the blood and the tears mixed instead
Not a drop to drink yet plenty to mourn
The clacker of knives as if slicing through leather
The bones of the fallen no longer are brothers
Gone to sleep yet expecting dawn
And the mud on my shoes sprinkling away
No exits in sight yet slithering astray
Forever lost is the path I deviated from
Been walking along yet it feels forever
As if time had slowed to join my endeavour
The end isn't visible like my faith unborn
Crippling sounds of smoke filled lights
Days filled with fear of horror of nights
Yet the misery overpowers the terror it spawns
