One night, dreamt a day called the Dark constant
It’s a phenomenon observed in every continent
The extinguishment of light is its stark content
A prevailing of the darkness to the bounds often.
Casual day in a school unpacking some eggs
Participation in contests, winning nonetheless
Couldn’t track my time, I felt cold in my vest
Decided to leave, so my chauffeur came dressed.
But wait a minute, the watch read 1:52
PM of course but this can’t be true
The sky became dark as if twilight grew
A nightmare of sorts is coming to be true.
How can I describe what I saw in my dream?
Imagine its midnight in an afternoon scene
As if the sun was snuffed out in a vicious scheme
Pitch black in middle, blue gradient in the seams
Went to a friend’s house with my family afoot
Quick glances at the sky had us all quite hooked
An eerie sight beholding had us all quite shook
Prayers whispered as we dared to peek-a-look.
Time to bring out my star piece of tech
Power of a car in a small screen object
Point it to the sky at the dark spot just yet
It crashed with smoke at the sight instead.
Theorising begins as the paranoia kicks
From the Wrath of God to powerline trips
Fluttering through pages of divine scripts
Concluded at last, it was a Solar Eclipse.
