What if the Devil on my left shoulder is right?

And my selfish nature is because of my plight.

What if my many problems are nothing but slight?

Gluttony’s too attractive in a world made to survive.

What if my name everywhere isn’t actually Greed?

I’m only sowing my crops to benefit from its reap.

What if pushing others down is a way to succeed?

To ridicule their ideas is to seek Pride in my deeds.

What if dedicating my efforts to a cause is wrong?

Being wasted like a Sloth is a cause for which I belong.

What if subjugation of weak is definition of strong?

And Envy of my peers is key to striving to prolong.

What if Lust over material isn’t risking the unseen?

These rules and regulations are nothing but dreams.

What if the Devil wants the best for you to redeem?

But on Day of Judgement, wouldn’t come in between.
