1000 Years Ago

Sometimes I sit and wonder

About things I don’t know,

Like what the Earth was like

A thousand years ago.

Did tarantulas swim in oceans?

Did plants even grow?

Did butterflies rule the planet?

Or oceans were filled with snow?

Were primates servants of the superior species?

Did humans even exist?

I shook my head thinking about

A 1000 years ago.

I wish I had a time machine

To solve this mystery one for all

Isn’t it exciting to know

Whether Giraffes were then that tall?

Maybe we would never know

What life was like a 1000 years ago?
